Centrium Energy Solutions Marks One Year Transforming U.S. Oilfield Chemical Sourcing
After just 12 months, the chemical supplier’s combination of domestic raw material sourcing, technical lab validation and performance-driven support is delivering faster, more reliable chemistry for oilfield service providers nationwide.
HOUSTON (October 31, 2025) In just one year, Centrium Energy Solutions has reshaped how oilfield service providers source and validate chemistry—replacing offshore dependency with faster, U.S.-based supply and lab-backed performance testing. Launched in October 2024, the raw material supplier marks its first anniversary by celebrating measurable results across the U.S. oilfield chemical market.
Key Milestones in U.S. Oilfield Chemical Supply
Centrium set out to help regional and mid-sized oilfield service providers compete smarter through a more efficient sourcing model. Over the past 12 months, the company has delivered on that mission—simplifying access to critical raw materials and technical support while eliminating offshore delays and other challenges that stall mid-sized operations.
In its first year, Centrium:
- Opened a new 5,000-square-foot lab and headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, with advanced testing equipment, a technical team and full capabilities to test, validate and optimize field performance of chemical formulations before deployment.
- Partnered with world-class global suppliers to strengthen domestic access to reliable, high-quality chemistry for better performance in upstream and midstream applications, including surfactants, inhibitors, intermediates and other semi-commodities.
- Helped OFS teams successfully solve persistent field challenges with chemistry replacements—from corrosion and emulsion control to paraffin and scale mitigation, with chemistry sourced, tested and shipped within days.
- Built out the Centrium team with experienced professionals across business development, operations and technical services—drawing veteran talent from the oil & gas and specialty chemical industries. The team includes:
- Jonathan (Jon) Rogers, General Manager: a veteran energy executive with more than 20 years in technical and leadership roles at BP, Clariant, ChampionX, Sasol Servo and more, with four patents and recognition as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
- Tom Fenderson, Technical Services Director: an experienced oil and gas chemist with nearly two decades of experience in R&D and applications development, having led labs and grown businesses at Sterling Specialty Chemicals and other energy companies, with 12 patents and 20+ published technical papers.
- Sean Moore, Account Manager, Operations Lead: an oil and gas operations and business development professional with over a decade of experience, including U.S. Army service and leadership roles in chemical distribution, focused on optimizing sourcing, logistics, and operational support for mid-sized service providers.
- Harrison Finney, Business Development: a business-development leader with over 20 years in R&D, sales and key-account roles across the industrial chemical sector—now applying that experience to chemical supply and logistics for the oilfield service industry.
“Our first year proved that when sourcing and science come together domestically, service providers get faster and more reliable supply chains, which is vital to win in a competitive market,” said Jonathan Rogers, General Manager of Centrium Energy Solutions. “We’re proud to have built real momentum with partners who share that mindset, and we’re just getting started. Year two is already shaping up to be even bigger with the strong demand we’re seeing.”
Reshoring Supply and Accelerating Performance in Oilfield Chemicals
Amid continued supply chain uncertainty and consolidation among global suppliers, Centrium Energy Solutions has introduced a reshoring model that delivers speed and reliability. The proven sourcing approach was developed by its parent company, Cathedral Holdings, Inc.,which operates eight U.S. distribution centers across multiple performance-driven sectors. It includes:
- 48-hour sample delivery and rapid validation testing
- Custom formulation support using real field samples
- Reliable U.S. inventory eliminating waiting on offshore shipments
- Pricing power without bulk requirements or long contracts
By combining the buying power of Cathedral as a national distributor with the technical rigor of a lab-backed performance partner, Centrium gives OFS companies a competitive advantage in a volatile market—reducing downtime, cutting waste and improving operator outcomes.
“Centrium operates on a simple principle: oilfield service providers shouldn’t have to choose between performance, price and availability,” said Rogers. “Our approach is designed to help mid-sized OFS teams deliver Tier 1-level performance without the inventory headaches, long lead times or minimum order pressures that have long defined the sector.”
Momentum Across the Oil & Gas Industry
Centrium spent its anniversary week with a strong showing at two major industry events —the Permian Basin International Oil Show and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) ATCE2025. The supplier’s technical and business development teams met with operators, suppliers and service companies exploring new sourcing strategies and field-validated chemistry.
